Hello and Welcome to Company B 2^nd Rhode Island Detached Militia web page. We are organized out of the Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut area. We organized in 2004 and joined with our parent organization Company B 2^nd Rhode Island Volunteer Regiment(New Jersey). This gives us an unique place to have the ability to recruit in the northeastern United States. We are members of the U.S.V. and fall under the Rules and Bylaws of the New Jersey Organization we as a whole re-enact at about Thirty percent of the re-enactments, encampments, and drills together by doing this we have the privilege to go on the battle field as our own unit.

Most re-enactment web pages are usually all about the history of the unit they represent.  Most often they also contain a small amount on the re-enacting group themselves.  For this reason and many others, we have decided to focus primarily on the re-enactor and provide you with links to other websites we have found on the History of the Second Rhode Island.  If you are seeking more information on the history and less on our group, you can go to the Links page to visit other sites containing information on the history of the Regiment. This web page is dedicated to showing the re-enactor the uniforms, weapons, drill, and all other aspects of the Life of the modern Civil War Re-enactor wanting to do a 2^nd Rhode Island Impression or any other Civil War unit Impression.
