Folding of your Great coat

This article is writing for any body who has just bought a Great Coat and wanted to keep it on the knapsack or try out those new blanket straps. The 5 steps we use to fold the Great Coat came from a 1943 U.S. Army Manual with a couple of alterations to compensate for the Cape.

Step 1

Lay out your Great Coat on the ground making sure that the arms are turned out a little and that all bottons are undone

Then pull the cape from under the coat and lay it outflat.

Step 2

Place left side of coat and cape over the right side on it’s self

Step -3

Start rolling the Cape on top of it’s self adjusting as you go

STEP -4

As soon as you reach the shoulders fold the arms inside the Coat making sure that the cuffs touch

Step-5

Keep folding the Coat tight making sure to adjust as you finish rolling

And there you have it one folded Great Coat ready for the Knapsack. Now his is not the way they did it back in the day but if you are in a rush to get out on the field this is a great way to get there.
